“Brushstroke Master” is an educational game designed to teach Chinese character stroke order. I developed it in 2008 as a part of my Masters Thesis at the University of California, Berkeley. That thesis is available <link needed>here<link needed> (and probably horribly outdated and naive at this point 🙂 ). Although I primarily coded the game in ActionScript 3.0 and Adobe Flash, I was helped out by two fantastic undergraduate programmers, Jessica Lin and Jenny Franco, and a wonderful graphic designer, Laura Kaltman. Below are images of the game salvaged from my Masters Thesis, “Kinesthetic Game Design Solutions for Chinese Stroke Order Learning Difficulties.” I am still hoping to locate the original Flash game at some point.
